The difference between being an explorer and a celebrated explorer is: writing and sharing.
I remember having attended a reading by Thesiger at the British Council in Nairobi in 1994? and would certainly like to go back in time and ask this old man a few questions that I didn’t come up with 19 years ago.
Still, what I really appreciate about these explorers is their ability to share their experiences in written form. I wonder if this quality would still be possible today.
