Seriously, dear Kenya Times, I am not really upset about this 1:1 copying of my words on the Kenya Spotlight Vol 2 event. After all, if this helps to promote some fine Kenyan music – basi.
Lakini, what I don’t like is, if you just copy my words without telling me. There’s a contact form on my website, you could have left a comment or “manual trackback” or even just google for my name. I am here, I have nothing to hide and I won’t bite. Sawa?

OK, this is just too funny. I insist that you insist on getting on their payroll at this rate. There is a very lazy journalist/columnist getting paid to copy your words.

I wonder if that CreativeCommons License should really make a difference though. Who will stop anyone from printing ypur stuff off? How is that being made sure/inforced?
well, at least now the readers can find a statemant on how to use contents of this site and the author probably has kind of a legal claim against such plagiarism. For further details head for your lawyer ;-)
I was luckier than you, they contacted me by email… altho they did not ask… the editor, he simply said it matter-of-factly, ” I plan on republishing this in tomorrow’s paper.” Of course, I happily obliged :-D
