Excellent and very appropriate write-up. I personally use my cellphone as laptop-substitute. Doing Web browsing, emailing, uploading posts etc. is more handy with cellphone, and I can do it anywhere anytime on the go. With the fast advancement of smartphone technology, such all round use of cellphone will increase in coming days, and gradually it may replace laptops one day!
This writing is also drafted and posted through my cellphone.
Once again, thanks for your very appropriate writing.

Thx aegeus, nice link, just bookmarked it. I think you are right about this expensive smartphone vs. laptop argument. Imho it makes sense to invest into a laptop rather than to go and buy a buggy smartphone. At least as long as these mobile blogging tools aren't perfect.

sorry i am barging in a little late..

I have tested the SE M600 and that is one sweeeeeeeet phone, very capable and i actually like that it does not have a camera, the P910i still serves me well as the HTC wizard which lately is rather jaded since the release of the faster processord HTC Touch Cruise. Sweet looking phone, not put my grimy mitts on that bad boy but if its anything like its predecessor, the Touch Dual, this will be a formidable phone. The there is The HTC Advantage X7501 brilliant phone from the reviews i have read, too pricey, get a laptop. Well at least i think all the HTC phones i know are too costly to consider, at least comparing to laptops, they can be slow, buggy, they run windows, and are prone to random crashes. I pair mine with Opera Mobile and that is a pretty sweet combination, some sites render well but some are a headache to navigate so i found this site www.skweezer.net that would proxy the pages brilliantly to fit the small screen. Try it out.

Ok,lg, CU

I tested this the other week and it works fine. But I am not using the Yahoo! Java applet (java applets btw consume extra RAM, even when they are not running!) but this dedicated Nokia plugin http://www.flickr.com/nokia . Or check out <a href="http://www.s60tips.com/2006/07/12/how-to-flickr-from-nokia-flickr-uploader/" rel="nofollow">this manual</a>.

Oh, yes - I just realized it's only available for the latest Nseries phones. Pole bwana! Maybe upload them via e-mail?

Good write up! I agree with the E70 having software issues I have discovered that but thats cos' I'm running the Ver. 1 therefore I intend to update the firmware next time I'm in Nairobi. The E61i is a very good alternative. I had been torn between Nokia and Sony Ericsson P990i but the poor reviews it was geeting on the Net discouraged me.
I still haven't been able to upload photos to Flickr with the phone using the Yahoo GO! java app which is one of the the things I really want to be able to do.
