This way it is much more convenient than pulling it out of a pocket when someone calls. The other reason is to increase reception quality and reduce transmitting power which may result in a lower power consumption, less uh-frequency radiation and an extended battery life. The idea was to have a holder for the meantime as that Suzuki doesn't have any "cave" in the dashboard for small parts like a phone.
